When like a log of wood I lay,
Lifelessly waiting to be fed to ants,
May I remember my certificates and arise.
When like a log of wood I lay,
Gradually oozing smell like an open sewer,
May my Boo’s smile and vital statistics breath new Life into me.
When like a log of wood I lay,
With my brilliant brain cold as stone,
May the hi-tech automobile I eventually acquired auto-drive in and raise me up.
When like a log of wood I lay,
With my ambitions-meter at a stagnant zero,
May my Pastor and his anointing oil flow on me and make me sneeze.
When like a log of wood I lay,
With my friends and relatives reluctantly pouring sand on me,
May my poise, bravado and accent rebuke them from doing so.
While I yet layed not like a log of wood, may I be wise enough to lead life in the simplest way I can find…
